Strong socks October 12, 2008 Tango Static (San Jose, CA) I'm a dance instructor and teach 30 hours a week. Gold Toe socks wear like iron. Other socks don't last more than a few weeks. Moreover, these stay put, so I don't get blisters. The only problem, they hug the leg, so you need to tug on them to get them on. Otherwise I'd give them a 5-star rating.
Preferred socks September 25, 2008 David Sternlight (Los Angeles, CA USA) Gold Toe are my preferred brand of socks, and Amazon has good prices. Comfortable, long-lasting dress socks. What more can one say?
Agree with Some Negative Comments September 13, 2008 Illinois Erudite (Central Illinois) While these socks are very well made and overall a solid product, I agree that they do sag very easily and don't have very good elastic support like some other brands. These have the standard "ring" at the top to tighten around your calf, but unlike some other dress socks, they don't have the elastic tightness throughout the calf-area to support the sock from your ankle to your upper calf. Not a big deal, just a pain to have to pull up my socks repeatedly throughout the day. Otherwise, be careful to combine these socks with uncomfortable shoes. Matched with comfortable shoes, these socks are great -- they're very breathable and feel good on your feet when you're walking or sitting at your desk. Matched with uncomfortable/mis-sized shoes, they are a nightmare. It's like wearing very thin sandpaper for socks -- they will grind on the balls of your feet and burn calluses into your skin. So, just be careful.
The main reason I like them... July 12, 2008 bythecshore (Eastern U.S.) ...is that they've been making them for many, many years in exactly the same "model". Why is this important? Because I wear them to work every day and buy ONLY this brand & model. So when old ones wear out, I replace them with new ones and there is only one brand in my sock drawer. No more mis-matched or missing socks! Yes, just a small "benefit", but one of things that makes daily life a little easier. Oh, and they're great socks too like most others said.
3 packs = 3 pair NOT January 20, 2008 Russell (New Orleans, LA) 1 out of 22 found this review helpful
The title of this says "3-pack". Then, the description says "three pairs to a pack". I was expecting to get what is advertised: 9 pairs of socks. Since I cannot wear the socks until this is resolved, I cannot comment on the socks. I can only say that they are falsely advertised and because of that, I have to waste my time arguing with people over the phone over $15 socks.
