Editorial Review Pediatricians know that even the fussiest, wiggliest infants can settle down in minutesor secondswhen swaddled. But parents know just how difficult it can be to trap those little octopuses in the very thing that's supposed to calm them. Enter SwaddleMe! This handy little piece of ivory colored fleece allows parents to contain their newborn snugly (not tightly) with adjustable side wings and a leg pouch. Velcro tab closure allows for a good fit, even as baby grows. The leg pouch pops down for easy diaper checks and changesall while baby's arms remain securely wrapped. Winner of the iParenting Media Award, and featured in Parenting Magazine, August 2003. The incredibly soft 100% polyester microfleece is machine washable (read care instructions for specifics). Amazon.com Product Description Pediatricians know that swaddling babies has multiple benefits. It can calm a fussy infant in minutes, it can reduce colic by recreating the womb, it can ease startle reflex that wakes them, and it can even reduce the risk of SIDS by helping little ones sleep through the night. But those pediatricians aren't the ones having to wrestle a wiggly infant into a swaddled state. Parents know how difficult it can be to accomplish this, especially with loose blankets. Luckily, Kiddopotamus has just the thing: their SwaddleMe adjustable wrap. This ingenious covering snugly-not tightly-holds baby through a system of self-fasteners that can adjust to provide a comfortable fit as baby grows. | | An easy, three-step process has baby bundled and calm in seconds. | How it works Align baby's shoulders with the contoured top of the open SwaddleMe and tuck their legs inside the leg pouch. Wrap the left wing over baby's torso, tuck it around baby's left arm, and attach the fabric fastener to the leg pouch. Place the right wing over the left and secure with fabric fasteners. NOTE: The fabric should never cover baby's mouth or nose. The simplicity of SwaddleMe is enough to sell most parents, but Kiddopotamus went the extra mile on convenience, too. The leg pouch folds down for easy diaper checks and changes-while baby's arms remain cozily secure. SwaddleMe has a harness slit on its back that allows it to be placed in car seats, strollers, and swings for babies on the move. Based on your location, or the time of year that baby will use SwaddleMe, the comfy contraption is available in three different fabrics-lightweight microfleece, cotton flannel, and knit cotton-and a slew of colors and patterns. Sizes The SwaddleMe is available in three, offering a perfect fit for whatever stage you need: preemie is for babies weighing 3-7 pounds; small is for babies weighing 7-14 pounds; and large is for babies weighing 15-22 pounds. These sizes are meant to be only a guideline as babies' girth can vary.
Product Description Keep your newborn all bundled up with this innovative baby wrap made of 100% micro-fleece fabric. Pediatricians recommend swaddling your newborn to comfort and soothe them, and this blanket makes it easy with its "wings" and re-adjustable tabs that wrap around and fasten securely. A snap for even the most swaddling-challenged parents!

A Total Must Have!! October 12, 2008 Working Mom (CT, USA) We used this on my son every night and it really works well in making the baby feel warm, safe & secure. Bedtime was a whole lot easier and we even bought the Large size afterwards, as it doesn't take long before they out grow this one.
Well worth the money October 6, 2008 Ella Blue (Whiteman AFB, MO USA) My friend gave me one for me son because he wouldn't sleep unless he was wrapped tightly but we never could get him tight enough for his satisfaction. Once we got the swaddle me he started sleeping for longer periods of time. We would swaddle him and lay him on the couch since it was the only place he would sleep for the first 3 months and we wouldnt hear a peep out of him until he was hungry or till his older sister (older by 11 months) would bother him. Were having another baby and will definitely get this again since we gave the first one away. It is way better than the blankets and the little velcro makes it so that it will stay tight until you unwrap your little bundle of joy. It is also a million times easier to swaddle your baby with the swaddle me than with a receiving blanket.
This saved us from sleepless nights July 12, 2008 Austin Mom (Austin, Texas) My son has been swaddled using the kiddopotamus since birth. We just now stopped using it at 5.5 months. He was sleeping through the night at 2 months and taking great naps. We just wrap him in it and he would fall asleep in seconds. We ended up using both the small and large sizes. He didn't outgrow the weight but got too long for the smalls but the larges worked wonderful as well.
Crying in the Car: Never Again June 20, 2008 S. Brothers (Ohio) My little one loved to be swaddled, but we couldn't swaddle her in the car. She would get so frustrated - frantically crying and turning red - in the car when she wanted to sleep. Now when she gets upset, we use the swaddle me blanket, and she falls right to sleep. She is still safe in her car seat, but also happy! It also works great with all the other S's of "Happiest Baby on the Block" too!
some like it, some don't! June 1, 2008 J. Conti (ca) I had one of these for my first son, he was a preemie. everyone said, "ohhhh he's a little preemie, he'll sleep better if he's bundled tight, swadddle this swaddle that..." he hated the swaddler. then fat and happy full term baby number two comes..... "oh, big baby's sleep better at night, you won't need to worry about him...." Horrible sleeper, up all night to eat, but LOVED the swaddler!!! Don't listen to what everyone says. the stereotypes are all wrong. Baby might hate this and scream to be free (like my first), or sleep great only when he's in it (like my second....). You won't know unless you try though.... ;)
