Simple Cheap Works December 12, 2008 Scott Reynolds (new egypt, NJ United States) After reading all kinds of reviews on diaper pails we ended up getting this one mainly (like many other people) is because it uses regular garbage bags and no special bags are required. This type of item should not be complicated and difficult to use and this one is not. The small blue part just pops up, when you push down on the tab (this can be done with one hand) which opens a small hole to rid the diaper. We have gone over a weeks worth of dirty diapers and there is no smell. If you wrap up the diaper within itself than there is no smell. I have no idea what other people are doing that they have to empty it every day. If given the option I would buy this one again over any other.
Excellent for cloth diapers October 4, 2008 Lizz7099 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Since having a diaper pail with a lid makes cloth diaper smells build up this is perfect because you can leave the little blue lid open. Although I eventually took the lid off altogether. The "deodorizer disc" is worthless.
diaper pail July 15, 2008 Mildred Burns (fl.) This product arrived with a part missing. There is supposed to be an inner liner, which holds the liner in place. I had this same problem when buyng this product from Wal-Mart. I bought one on line since then, and was perfectly happy with it. I did not try to return it, as I could't wait that long, and I was lucky enough to have the inner liner from the old one, which could no longer be used, because the spring inside broke after long usage.
Works great for this twin mom June 23, 2008 Toodles! (Texas) I have used this diaper pail for 2.5 months with twin babies. We go through a LOT of diapers ;) This pail has done a nice job. The only time I have smelled an odor is if the pail is full to the top and the pop-lid is left open. I really like the capacity to deal with double diapers of twins. I also have a Diaper Champ and I prefer this diaper pail over the Champ. They perform about the same, but the capacity of the Safety 1st Pail makes it a winner for me.
Not the best, but beats the hassle May 21, 2008 navy mom (okinawa, jp) I was given a diaper genie at my shower, and from day 1 it was a hassle, it was complicated, I didn't really think it took care of smell that well, I just couldn't deal with something i would have to fight with everyday and change so often. This diaper pail is not the best, I can still smell some odor, but for me the simplicity of it is worth it. I hated the turning pushing, special bags, installations difficulties. This pail is easy, has a large capacity, has a space for deodorants and is not too expensive. So, you will have some smell leak out, but it's worth not having the headache from the counterpart.
