Amazon.com If Little Big Town's platinum-selling debut, The Road to Here, found the foursome putting a backwoods spin on both Fleetwood Mac and the Southern California rock scene, the band's sophomore release pays such direct tribute to their heroes that you'd have to have a tin ear not to recognize the very songs that inspired them. Liked Fleetwood Mac's "Go Your Own Way?" They've got it under the bargain title "Fine Line." Loved "The Chain" and "Landslide?" They're here, too, but with different titles. Crosby, Stills & Nash's "Suite: Judy Eyes?" Try "I'm with the Band." And if it's Sheryl Crow or the Eagles you want, consider A Place to Land one-stop shopping. And why not? If the latter artists started out enamored with country, why can't Nashville return the favor? Who could resist those impeccably arranged and polished harmonies wrapped around such trendy topics as emotional abuse and low self-esteem? Homage never sounded so heavenly. --Alanna Nash
Album Description 2008 re-release of A Place to Land, the third studio album by Country music group Little Big Town who found a home at Capitol Records Nashville. "We want the world to hear this music," says Schlapman, "It's how we tell the story of our lives." In addition to the project's 12 original tracks, the re-release features four brand new studio tracks, as well as "Life in a Northern Town," a live collaboration with former tourmates Sugarland and Jake Owen. Riding on the success of the album's hit single "Fine Line," A Place to Land demonstrates the group's continuing growth and evolution. Originally released in 2007 as their second album on the independent Equity Music Group label.

Better Than The Previous Release November 30, 2008 Kenneth J. Lohman (South Elgin, IL USA) Ever since I saw them open up for Martina McBride in Pittsburgh in '06, I've been a big fan of LBT. I admit I was sceptical when the new cd came out (they had a tough act to follow), but after a few listens, I can't get it out of my cd player. I've never heard a group where it doesn't matter who lead sings, the song sounds great. And their harmonizing is so great, that each song is amazing. I highly recommend this cd to anyone who likes their previous work.
LBT restores my faith in music!! November 26, 2008 Deborah Lambert (Spokane, WA) Having grown up listening to country but only liking rock and roll, I never expected to be head over heals for Little Big Town. They bring something fresh and new to today's music that is the perfect tapestry of lyrics, harmonies, melodies, and instumentation. I hear my younger days calling with glimpses of early Fleetwood Mac, the Eagles, and even Bad Company on their previous release. As a Southerner, I have never found a voice or voices for that matter that accurately reflected my country music and 70's rock roots. That was until LBT! They ARE the PERFECT FUSION!! I was blessed to see them in concert and they are awesome and love to connect with their audience. Long live LBT and I give many thanks that they have bestowed upon us their beautiful, harmonious, countryish, rockish, Eagle-ish, Fleetwood Mac-ish sound! I hope one day they will put their version of "Go Your Own Way" like they do in concert sometimes and on Crossroads on CMT with Lindsay Buckingham. I love you guys!!
OK November 17, 2008 Lauren (Topeka, KS) While some songs are good on this album are good, it does not surpass the road to here. if you have to choose between the two choose the road to here. best songs: 1, 2, 13, 16.
Country's best group does it again! November 14, 2008 M. Ross (New Haven, CT USA) Okay, I admit it, I love Little Big Town. Ever since I saw them for the first time several years ago I have been a dedicated admirer. Their music is some of the best I've heard in a long time. "A Place to Land" is no different. From the title track to the singles "I'm With the Band" and "Fine Line" to the newer extra tracks the band is vocally superior and musically its pleasing on all levels. "A Place to Land" is fun, inspiring, touching and full of joy. The album is LBT's pure sound and fun attitude throughout. It's a fantastic album!
One of the best albums to come out in years October 29, 2008 Kim 1 out of 1 found this review helpful

The songs cover a wide variety of emotions and sounds and there is a song perfect for every mood. If you love great music, you will not be disappointed by this album.
