The Steel String Acoustic Guitar has a loud, bright ringing tone that clearly projects to the listener. This type of guitar is the backbone of most country and bluegrass bands. It's perfect for backing a singer and its stylistic palette encompasses everything from New Age and Country Blues, to hot Bluegrass flatpicking, jazz fusion and "unplugged" rock. Sound, beauty and price were all blended together when this guitar was created. From the deep, warm tones of the Mahogany back and sides to the loud, bright projection of the Solid Spruce top you'll never want to play anything else after you've put your hands one one of these guitars.

best beginner guitar. June 7, 2008 Wilbur Lidzy (Guatemala Central America) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Keep this under the bed and drag it out to practice. I could probably play the guitar if I practiced more. Nice design and easy to tune.
WAY BETTER ON THE MARKET. NOT EVEN A BEGGINER GUITAR March 19, 2008 Randall J. Williams 1 out of 4 found this review helpful
This guitar is not very good. I went and bought one off ebay after I looked at this one, and this is not originally a 300 dollar guitar. On ebay u can get a great beginner guitar for 30 bucks, pick, metal strings, gig bag, strap, etc. way better deal. Search fretshop on ebay. that is the seller and they r amazing.
Not Very High Quality... February 6, 2008 Jameson Cunningham 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
While tuning my quitar, the surface separated from the base. As I understand, that's not supposed to happen. I would not recommend this quitar, it's not very high quality and will not last very long...

Johnny's smiling! That's good enough for me! December 12, 2007 ! Betty Dravis (San Jose, CA) 32 out of 32 found this review helpful
I hesitated buying this guitar for my grandson when I saw a few negative reviews, but when I checked the list, the 5- and 4-star reviews were double the negative ones, so I decided to purchase it. I realize it's not the best on the market, but a beginner doesn't need the best. Kids often think they want to play the guitar, then later change their minds in favor of drums or something else that catches their eyes. With that in mind and the economical price and the accessories, it was a no-brainer decision. Besides, it's quite stylish in a neutral way; not glittery and showy like some guitars I've seen; more suitable for a 12-year-old. When I saw Johnny's face light up when he opened his birthday gift ... well, that was priceless to me. It's three months later and he's still smiling, so I consider this one of my best investments. He's learned a few songs already and is constantly in his room, practicing. Since the sound is good, the noise doesn't bother me. I'd much rather hear him play than listen to blaring rap music. :) One reviewer complained about the carrying bag, but that didn't worry me at all. It was still a good value, with or without the bag, and we've had no problems yet. I recommend this to beginning guitarists, no matter how old. If they stick with it and decide to go professional, they can go on to more expensive equipment later. Review by: Betty Dravis, 2007
