The Altec Lansing T612 is amazing...great clear sound, thumping floor vibrating bass, and can adjust to your taste in music! I am so happy I shopped around and read the reviews. It is a little more expensive than the rest but worth it. It is a perfect fit for those who paid the $400 and bought the first iPhone that came out. Our iPhone has speakers and can multi-task, but we can really party hooked up to this speaker system! That complaint about receiving a message about adjusting airplane mode and not receiving calls...simply turn on the T612, turn on your iPhone, from the menu select iPod, select the playlist your in the mood for, then place iPhone into the docking station, press play and enjoy! When a call comes in the music stops, and in my case my music ring tone plays, the iPhone lights up and I either accept the call or ignore and keep jamming!With the remote at hand you can even DJ your party from the dance floor!!!

Excellent product, sound quality very good, and the look is very impressive. Just a note make sure you changed the piece where you dock your iPod denpending on the type of iPod you have.

I just received my speakers from Amazon. If you are planning on using these speakers with an iPhone3G then be prepared to spend another $3 for the dock even though it's advertised as 3G capable. Calling Altec Lansing about the missing dock adapter will get you every excuse in the book:
"Apple does not provide spec's prior to release so we don't have time to include it in the box."
"The t612 was designed for the original iPhone, that's why it doesn't come with the adapter."
"It still works with the iPhone 3G, just remove the adapter provided and your phone will slide right on there. We understand that it doesn't sit on there solidly but it still works..."*
*My car technically works riding on the rims too but you don't see me doing that, now do you?!?
I don't care if all they want is $3 for the shipping. Selling the unit as iPhone 3G capable is false advertising and Altec Lansing and Amazon should either provide the dock adapter free of charge (that includes shipping) or stop selling them as iPhone 3G capable!

One word describes this product - Wow!
I am amazed at the sound that the Altec Speakers produce. Rivals my full stereo system - Onkyo / Axiom floor standing speakers.
In fact, many times I forget that I am listening to my iPod Touch on the Altec Lansing system and think that I am listening to the regular stereo.
Having a solar PV system for my house, i am extremely energy conscious. This uses 1/3 the power of my Onkyo system.
Want free satellite like radio. If you have the bandwidth - recommend 3MB or higher if your ISP allows this option, you can download Pandora (free app), select band / artist, hit play and enjoy commercial free hits in the same genre - very similar to new Genius option with iTunes. Great for parties.
The Altec Speaker system is a phenomenal product!!!
